Abstract:
In Finnish basic education, we are making interventions that engage student teams in collaborative invention (co-invention) processes aimed at knowledge creation. In this paper, we focus on one team of four students aged 13 or 14. We introduce our preliminary findings and a methodological framework designed to analyze and describe 1) the development of design ideas and 2) the shared epistemic object of knowledge that the student team created during the co-invention process. In addition, we seek to describe the role of concrete design artifacts in the ideation process.
